Any true test of an incubator shouldn’t be about getting in. As with real startups, the test is actually executing.
ifilikeityoulikeit via thetvscreen: The Killers have announced the title of their upcoming fourth album — Battle Born. In his typical grandiose manner, frontman Brandon Flowers explained that, “in a sense, all Americans are battle born. Our ancestors came here for something better.”
His focus on the company since its very first day is anything short of admirable. He was a visionary, he always knew that the only way for Facebook to grow was to maintain its central idea, that of people truly presenting themselves as they are, without nicknames or pseudonyms.
When I look at Kickstarter, I see small businesses that have been funded by their customers. I see the acceleration of this shift away from the industrial manufacturing ideology to more of a maker economy. And I also see an idea so powerful that the company name has become a verb.
